A Year Older & Probably None the Wiser

Saturday marked my 28th birthday. Yay! Another year! And I didn't join the 27 Club. But also never was or claim to be a rock star. Unless you count totally rocking Mozart's 2nd Concerto in D for the flute! For the momentus occasion (it wasn't that momentus but whatever) we totally rocked out at Ravinia to one of my favorite bands, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra!

Does this mean I'm old?

It was pretty awesome. Schmale & her man were there. And Farrah & J^3 were there. And my daddy & mo where there!!!!! Yep! Daddy & Mo came up north from the boonies and graced Chicagoland with their loverly presence. And we ate melon & prociutto (sp?) & tons of cheeses & veggies & hummus & cherries & a million other wonderful things. But the best part was that my dad was there. I hadn't seen dad since like forever (a few months ago) & it was so good to enjoy the CSO with my daddy that I almost burst! Like exploded with happiness. Oh! And on the grocery trip I found a watergun in the basket so I knew that it was the universe telling me that 28's great.

Excuse me, is that a gun in your sundress or are you just happy to see me?

So there was some watergun ambushing. What's a summer party without a watergun? This is the second year in a row that my birthday has involved a watergun & I fully anticipate making it a tradition.

Other than birthday fun a lot's going on but I can't really talk about it yet because it's still in the infancy stage. So I prolly shouldn't have said anything all together but oh well.....expect some exciting news. Spoiler: no baby & no marriage so don't even THINK those are a possibility.

I got The Bookmobile fixed too. To the tune of $2000 (woah!). And I had to walk to the train to walk to another train to walk to the dealership & as soon as I got out of the first train station it started raining. At first, inspired by Another Roadside Attraction, I walked with confidence while drops of water hit my face & ran down, head held high but then it REALLY started to downpour so I got in a nice half-mile sprint, leaping over the puddles on the corners. The rain pretty much ended right as I reached Ogilvie Station, my shoes squishy & giving off their own water & my shirt soaked through. I've never been happier about having bought these quickdry pants. And on to Evanston I went, with a soaked copy of The Corrections & a soggy bum, finally arriving at the dealership. They told me the price & freaked out a bit. But then I got into my car & started driving. It felt like a brand new car & Little Red Corvette came on right as I pulled out of the dealership parking lot so I zoomed off, letting the wind dry my hair & shirt, looking all hot with some hot tunes blaring out of my car. Some young dudes were crossing the street, givin' me a 'hey there' look like 'what's that hottie doing driving around evanston for....i've never seen her before' & then I realized that I was zooming around in my sweet station wagon & am 28 (old by those dudes' standards) so they were prolly more like 'uh, old lady, you're not hot anymore & what the hell are you gonna do in that car but drive us to intermural soccer practice'. Oh well.

This weekend some girlfriends & I are going back to the underground male revue place to see some hot stripper ass for J9's birthday. Maybe Phoenix will be there & eat $1 bills out of my boobies again! Maybe this time I'll give him $3!!!!

happy birthday :)

if you get a chance, please ask the stripper if anyone actually cleans the poles of female strip clubs. i've always wanted to know, but my criteria for entering a strip club is the menacing physique of the bouncer. i have yet to run into one that doesn't make me shiver in my pantaloons.
